The Pink Bowz Inc serves to provide funding for families battling a breast cancer diagnosis. Unlike other breast cancer organizations, our mission is to directly support families by providing $1,000 grants for expenditures such as non-insurance covered health care costs, travel expenses, and childcare.
As an organization, we make donations of up to $1,000 for families in need. A donation of $1,000 to a family can cover 8 nights in a hotel room in downtown Chapel Hill, less than 10 minutes away from the University of North Carolina Medical Center, one of the leading hospitals in the state. $1,000 can cover 60 hours of childcare for a mother in treatment. $1,000 can cover 45 trips (315 miles) from our home base in Wilmington, NC to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC and back again. From our experience, $1,000 can buy a great deal of hope.
