The Pink Bowz was started in 2015 by three high school girls in Hampstead, NC after a family friend was diagnosed with breast cancer on her 50th birthday. The girls banded together their friends, cheerleading team, and a local business to hold a pancake breakfast to raise money for her family. Over the next three years of high school, the girls dedicated their time to raising money for community members battling a breast cancer diagnosis. Now in 2020, we have two chapters run by the original founders at UNC Chapel Hill and UNC Greensboro. Our mission stands to aid families in North Carolina through a one time grant of $1,000. We are currently looking to expand our reach by starting clubs at other universities.
